Site Inspection Training
Course Summary
Power and grounding audits conducted by RO Associates have helped customers find and correct a number of National Electrical Code violations, as well as compliance issues with OSHA, IMSHA, and equipment manufactures' installation specifications. The presence of harmonic currents, load unbalance, loose wiring connections, improper ground and improperly isolated ground are common problems. These issues and code violations have a detrimental effect on the proper operation of computers and sensitive electronic equipment found many sites today.
During RO Associates on day Site Inspection Training, attendees will observe on their own company selected facility/site how to:
- Verify proper electrical distribution wiring for the main entrance panel and sub panels feeding critical equipment.
- Survey the grounding scheme for code compliance.
- Check systems and equipment for compliance with accepted installation practices and manufacturers' specifications.Measure selected voltages and currents and verify proper load balance.
- View voltage wave shapes with an oscilloscope and verify significant amounts of harmonic distortion.Survey electrical distribution and lighting protection schemes.
Prerequisite for this training are any RO Associates one- or two-day Grounding or Power disturbance course. Determination of the extent of a site audit utilized for training purposes will be predetermined by RO Associates and the client company. A memorandum of findings will be included.
