Our data line surge protectors are available in all standard voltages for RS-232 applications. Transtector’s data line surge protectors are your optimum solution for protecting RS-232 equipment, incorporating our proprietary non-degrading, fast acting, high performance silicon avalanche suppressor diodes (SASD). Engineered in compliance with the RS-232 standard, our data line protectors are low capacitance and have a tolerance in line with ±3 to ±15 volts. Transtector has the optimum surge protector for all common signal levels, including levels of ±5 V, ±10 V, ±12 V and ±15 V.
RS-232 drivers and receivers must be able to survive indefinite short circuit to ground or to any voltage level up to ±25 volts. The standard specifies a maximum open-circuit voltage of 25 volts. Transtector’s data line surge protectors are an easy to install solution to meet these parameters.
