SMITHS Interconnect, a division of the global technology business Smiths Group, announces today the relocation of PolyPhaser Corporation of Minden, Nevada to their Protection Group headquarters located in Hayden, Idaho.
The Interconnect Protection group consists of four brands: PolyPhaser Corporation, a leading provider of proprietary protection for RF and data communications; Summitek Instruments of Denver Colorado an industry leader in Passive Intermodulation Analyzer (PIM) testing devices for communication equipment manufactures; Transtector Systems of Hayden Idaho a global manufacturer of silicon diode surge protection systems for communications, commercial and military markets and LEA International also of Hayden Idaho whose surge suppression products focus on MOV based TVSS systems for commercial and broadcast markets.
Smiths Interconnect’s acting president Ralph Phillips commented, “The move to integrate PolyPhaser Corporation into our Hayden, Idaho facility is designed to capitalize on the combined synergies between LEA, PolyPhaser, and Transtector. These teams have worked closely and productively for several years, and it is the next logical step to bring the groups under one roof to further develop technologies, and focus our combined strength and expertise to engineer, market and manufacture power and signal integrity solutions.”
“LEA International, PolyPhaser Corporation and Transtector Systems will continue to operate as independent brands and provide quality lightning and surge suppression solutions as well as enhanced customer service to the telecommunications, industrial, medical and defense markets”, said Shawn Thompson, President, Protection Technology Group. “We look forward to the positive impact this opportunity will provide in supporting our customers.”
About Transtector Systems, A Smiths Group Business
Transtector is an international provider of power quality products including AC, DC, data and signal surge protection, communications power cabinets, EMP protection, lightning protection, and power quality engineering services. Established in 1967, Transtector was the first surge suppression designer to use non-degrading silicon diodes. Our patented, proprietary silicon avalanche suppressor diode (SASD) technology allows for less let-through voltage and lower clamp levels than other surge protection products. No one understands suppression and power quality issues like Transtector.
